John Greer

Hi! I'm John Greer. Among other things, I'm the TA for EE380L, "Engineering Programming Languages." You'll recognize me as the guy with the long red hair, though if it gets any hotter in Austin you'll recognize me as the guy with the short red hair. I'm also into running, cycling, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and any excuse to get out of the office to go outside and play.

I'm almost guaranteed to be in my office (ENS 505) from 10:30am to noon, Monday thru Friday, though this time may waver a bit due to lunch and my inexplicable urge to ride my bike to campus instead of taking the useful shuttle. I guess I enjoy sunburn. I check my e-mail habitually, so you can almost always get me at greer@ece.utexas.edu . My phone number is at the top-right of the whiteboard in ENS-505 if you need me urgently, as is my instant messenger contact info; I'm pretty free with my information but not free enough to post it on my webpage.

A Note About Email: I'm on campus a lot, and I use the campus wireless internet. I'm not paranoid, but I'm truly not fond of everybody with a wireless internet card being able to read all of my email. So, when I have a choice, I encrypt my email with GPG. If you're using Thunderbird, it's very easy to do. It's not required when e-mailing me, but it does make smile.
